    Abstract:
Urban Requalification is recognized as a vital strategic instrument, which aims to respond to the current needs of cities, for their competitiveness, their social, economic and environmental sustainability. Based on this strategy, the 5th year Project and the intervention proposal fall within the area defined in the General Interventions Plan of the Lisbon Riverfront, in Ajuda, in a block located between 1000 meters around the Ajuda Palace.
The theme of the dissertation aims to develop a strategy and an integrated rehabilitation proposal. To achieve this objective, it was considered important to have an overview of the definitions and concepts associated with urban rehabilitation, in relation to the environment, urban voids and public space.
The urban proposal intends to frame a new block, studied in Project III of the 5th year, with new functionalities through the improved and rehabilitated public space. It will be developed and rehabilitated with the site in mind and will also have an impact on a multifunctional building to support the population of the parish of Ajuda. The result intends to reactivate the interactions of the block to dynamize and promote new experiences and provide the necessary services for urban development. (Jean Jacques Mbula Amani)
