The Canadian Parliament Buildings, structures in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, which house the Canadian Parliament (Senate and House of Commons). The buildings, designed in a Gothic Revival style, were officially inaugurated on June 6, 1866, about a year before Canada’s Confederation. On February 3, 1916, a fire destroyed all but the Library of Parliament. Reconstruction began later that year and was completed in 1927.
The historic building is now closed for renovations that will take 10 years.
